Lowell Cecil, age 71, of Kay Jay and Owens Hollow passed away Thursday January 31, 2013 in Bristol Virginia. He was a retired coal miner and a believer in the Baptist Faith. Lowell was born on December 27, 2013 in Knox County, KY to the late Grady and Bessie Cecil. Lowell was united in marriage to Mary Mullis Cecil and to this union following children survive Timothy Lowell Cecil and Ronda Hampton both of Keokee, Virginia and Charles Grady Cecil of Owens Hollow, Ky. Lowell is also survived by three brothers Doyle Cecil of Arkansas, Lonnie Cecil of Trosper, and Mike Cecil of Indiana, two sisters Volpie and her husband Joe of Arkansas, and Shirley Williams of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Lowell was also survived by the following grandchildren Ashley Lake, Krystal Cecil, Jonathan Lake, Tyra Cecil, Mary Sue Cecil, and Charley Beth Cecil, and the following great grandchildren Dillon, Hunter, Michael Keith, Cadence, and Jonathan Elijah. Besides his parents Lowell was preceded in death by a son Jeff Cecil, one Brother Ron Cecil, and one sister, Flo Crawford
Funeral services for Lowell Cecil will be conducted at 2PM Thursday at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Arnold Petrey officiating burial will follow in the Lunsford Cemetery at Kay Jay. The family will receive friends after 6PM Wednesday at the Hampton Funeral Home
