Lou Creesa Mays age 92 of Corbin, KY formerly of Barbourville, KY passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009 in the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Corbin, KY. She was the daughter of the late Luther Adams & Amanda (Rose) Adams born to them on May 17, 1917 in Knox County, and the widow of Walter Mays (Goatman); She was a homemaker and member of the Apple Grove Baptist Church.

Her parents Luther & Amanda Adams, her husband Walter Mays, and a half brother Denver Rose preceded her in death.

Left behind to mourn her passing is her five sons Neal Mays & wife Doris of Burlington, KY, Don Mays of Trenton, IN, Shelby Mays & Glenda of Corbin, KY, Gerald Mays & wife Helen of Shelbyville, KY, Walter Mays & wife Sue of Florence, KY, and a step-son Earl Helton of Barbourville, KY, Two Half Brothers: Cobb Adams of Bryants Store, KY and Wayne Adams of Tye Bend, KY Three half sisters Ruth Young & husband John of Neverdale, KY, and Ruth Wilson & husband Ernie of Barbourville, KY and Wanda Hudson of Swan Pond. Fourteen Grandchildren Sandra, James, Terry, Tanya, Tim, Barry, Jerry, Lora, Paula, Carla, Jennifer, Walt, Adam and Joshua. Dozens of Great Grand Children and a few Great, Great, Grand Children, and a Daughter in-law Brenda Mays of Williamsburg. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Creesa Mays will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Tim Mays, Barry Mays, James Mays, Jerry Mays, Terry Mays, Walt Mays, Josh Mays, and Adam Mays. Mrs. Mays will be laid to rest in the Wilson-Partin Cemetery on Rt 11. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with funeral at 2:00 p.m .on Sunday.
