Mrs. Lou Verna (Doolin) Brown age 82 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Saturday night in the Knox County Hospital. She was the wife
Of Eli Brown and the daughter of Elmer & Bessie (McQueary) Golden born to them on May 10th, 1928 in Lincoln, KY.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Barbourville Church of God, an a retired head cook from Knox County E.O. C., she enjoyed working, cleaning, gardening and being with kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer & Bessie Golden, one son Carl Edward Doolin, one sister Lou Etta (Babe) Harris and one brother Bev Ed Golden.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her husband Eli Brown of Barbourville, KY, two sons Robert Doolin & wife Bonnie of Lily, KY, and Kenneth Doolin & wife Jane of Gray, KY, step-son Jerry Brown & wife Brenda of Himyar, KY, two daughters Brenda Merida & husband Clint of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Linda Glass & husband Mickey of Goshen, Ohio,three step-daughters Marylyn Brumett & husband Jeff of Wise, VA, Kathy Smith of Booneheight, KY, and Lavaugh Bright & husband Ray of Boonehieigh, KY, one sister Louise Davis of Newsanberry, Ind. Ten grandchildren Kathy, Karen, Chris, Tonya, Carla, Keisha, Lucas, Joe, Elizabeth, and Jasmine Nichole, eight Great grandchildren Shawn, Matt, Bethany, Nick, Ross, Rayanna, Jerry Dawn, Joe Sie, Jay Lee, Logan, and Dylan. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted on Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sylvester Dunn, and Rev. John Carter officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
