Ms. Loretta Smith age 63 of Corbin, Ky. passed away on Monday-June 4, 2007 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Corbin, Ky.
She was the daughter of Major McVey and Julie Merida McVey born to them January 1, 1944. Ms. Smith was a homemaker and is of the Baptist faith. Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her father, one son: Johnny Smith, one daughter Beverly June Smith and two brothers: Dallas and Gary McVey. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Mother: Julie Merida McVey of Hinkle, Ky. Son: David Lee Smith and wife Belinda of Barbourville, Ky. Sisters: Wanda Faye Engle and husband Renus of Bimble, Ky.( who cared for her during her illness), Redia Sue Gray and husband Rev. Paul Gray of Barbourville, Ky. Catholeen Garland McVey of Barbourville, Ky. Alice Taylor of Hammond, Ky. Joyce Mills and husband Ronnie of Bimble, Ky., Christine McVey of Hinkle, Ky. Brothers: Clarence McVey of Indianapolis, Ind., Hobert McVey and wife Helen of Cannon, Ky., Ay McVey and wife Wanda Sue of Hinkle, Ky., Roger McVey of Flat Lick, Ky., and Jay McVey and wife Lonnetta of Hinkle, Ky. Sister-in-law: Diane McVey of London, Ky. Special Aunt: Della Billingsley of Cannon, Ky. Ms. Smith also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews in addition to family and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Smith will be conducted on Thursday-June 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Dunn and Rev. Columbus Hensley officiating. Pallbearers will be Edward McVey, Aaron Gray, Scott McVey, Michael Ross, Darrell Taylor, Rocky McVey and Eric Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Vora, Knox Co. Hospital and Hillcrest Nursing Home staff Burial will follow in the Obie Mills Cemetery at Mills Creek. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
