Loretta Hammons

Mrs. Loretta Hammons age 72 of Barbourville passed away Tuesday , December 21st, 2010 in the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. She was the widow of Cecil Glenn Hammons and the daughter of the Robert D. Payne & Fannie Mae (Creech) Payne of Knox County born to them on September 8th, 1938.
Mrs. Hammons believed in the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing, working in the garden, picking blackberries, shopping, canning, and listening to music.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband along with three sisters Hazel Barrel, Pauline Nelson, and Anna Mae Stump.
Left behind to mourn her passing is one son Junior Thomas Hammons of Barbourville, six daughters Linda Lou Bargo, Annett Hammons , Bonnie Lou Mink & husband Harold, Tammie King & husband John all of Barbourville, Janie Jordan & husband Jeff of Keavy, and Judy Reid & husband Kenny of Manchester, KY, one brother Robert Payne of London, KY, eleven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hammons also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hammons will be conducted on Friday, December 24th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Isom officiating. Pallbearers will be Family & Friends. Burial will follow in the Tuggle Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends may call at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday- December 23rd, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 3p.m.
