Lora Ann Simpson
April 27, 1943 — March 31, 2015
Lora Ann Simpson age 71 of Trosper departed this life on Monday March 31, 2015 in Barbourville. She was the Daughter of the late Link and Phebe Syme Hurst born to them on April 27, 1943. Lora was a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents Lora was also preceded in death by her husband Bobby Simpson.
Survivors include three sons; Bobby, Brian and Jerry Simpson all of Trosper, three daughters; Pamela Sowders and husband Mike of Barbourville, Vicki Honeycutt and husband Jerry of Stephen Trace and Penny Ann Johnson and husband George of Gray, KY., seven Brothers; Stanley Hurst and wife Shirley of Ohio, Bill Hurst and wife Rosene of Corbin, KY., Ken Hurst and wife Shirley, David Hurst and wife Mary, Wade Hurst and wife Mickey, Johnny Hurst and wife Pansy and Raymond Hurst and wife Debbie all of Barbourville, five sisters; Wava Lake, Violet Peace and husband Stanley, Sue Brooks and husband Doyle, Margaret Trent and husband Nickie and Shelby Troutman and husband Charles all of Barbourville, 13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends left to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Lora Ann Simpson will be conducted in the chapel of the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday April 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Roe Gibson and Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Sowders cemetery at coalport . Pallbearers will be Eric Martin, Michael Sowders, Travis Simpson, Dustin Simpson, Jerry Honeycutt and Wade Hurst. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. James West and Benny Jones.
The family will receive friends on Thursday April 2, 2015 from 6 until 9pm at the Hampton Funeral Home.
