Mr. Lonzo Stewart age 79 of Flat Lick, KY passed away on Thursday – January 14th, 2010 in the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin, KY, He was the husband of Elizabeth (Mills) Stewart and the son of the late Jeff Stewart & Reanie (Grubb ) Stewart born to them on February 1st, 1930.
Mr. Stewart was retired parts supply person for 34 years for Chrysler and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where he had been a former Sunday school teacher for 15 years and a Deacon in the Church. He had also been a former Sunday school teacher for 25 years in Michigan. He also enjoyed squirrel hunting, and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jeff & Reanie Stewart, His first wife Vivian (Philpot) Stewart, three brothers William, Albert, and Vernon Jackson, and one sister Gelema Slusher.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Elizabeth Stewart of Flat Lick, KY, two sons Ronnie Stewart & wife Stacy of Acorn Fork, KY, Darrell Stewart of Flat Lick, KY, and one daughter Diana Stewart Woolum & husband Don of Barbourville, KY, two brothers Cecil Stewart & M. C. Stewart both of Acorn Fork, KY, One sister Myrtle Warren of Southgate Michigan and one special brother in law O.V. Slusher six Grandchildren Melinda Pressley, David Lonzo Stewart, Michael Denton, Crystal Allen and Ronnie Michael Stewart, Kristin Jiminez and four Great grandchildren Faith Allen, Mackenzie Allen, Krista Saylor, and Anthony Alonzo Saylor. One beloved step grandchild Bridgett Stevens and six beloved step great grand children David Bargo, Loretta Cooper, Casey Gambrel, and Erica, Kelly and Brooklyn Sky Stevens. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Lonzo Stewart will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday – January 18th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Teddy Collins, Rev. Jerry Smith, and Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Pallbears will be Casey Gambrel, Michael Denton, Anthony Saylor, David Stewart, Brad Lawson, and Mike Stevens. Honorary pallbears are Dennis Gambrel and Ronnie Michael Stewart. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Acorn Fork. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
