Linda Smith

Mrs. Linda Smith age 61 of Girdler, KY departed this life on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington. She was the wife of Rev. Owen Smith and the daughter of Henan and Eloise (Ramey) Morgan born to them on June 18, 1949 in Pikeville, KY. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church at Woolum. She loved working at church and she enjoyed her flower garden and fish pond.
She is preceded in death by her father Henan Morgan, one daughter Angela Kay Payne and two nephews, Randy Mills and Bobby Mills.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her husband Rev. Owen Smith and one son Aaron Owen Smith both of Girdler, KY, her mother Eloise Morgan of Elkhart, Indiana, one brother, James Morgan and wife Janice of Virginia, two sisters, Gilda Mills and husband Joe of Michigan and Darlene Bauer of Bristol, Indiana, one grandson, Joshua Owen Ledford and wife Angie, two great grandchildren Cole Roark and Kaden Ledford, a niece Melissa Goldsmith of Michigan and a very special person that she thought of as her daughter, Sherry Crawford of Callebs Creek. She also leaves behind all of her special church friends along with many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday , November 19, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Tip Smith and Rev. David Mounce officiating. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Friendship Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Gambrel Cemetery at Spruce Pine. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m.
