Lillie Merida

Mrs. Lillie Merida age 93 of Barbourville departed this life on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the widow of James Merida and the daughter of Dan & Lydia Jane (Hubbard) Baker born to them on January 25, 1919 in Artemus, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, one son Clarence Meridan and several brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur Merida and J.D. Merida both of Flat Lick, KY and four daughters, Lisa Jordan of Union, KY, Bernice Stephens of Corbin, KY, Julie Whitson of Hamilton, Ohio and Doris Philpot of Flat Lick, KY. She also leaves behind twenty two grandchildren and thirty five great grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Merida will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Reed Murphy and Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Himyar. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
