Mr. Lester Gambrel age 90 of Flat Lick, Ky., departed this life on Wednesday – May 28, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Ollie (King) Gambrel and the son of the late Silas & Vina (Edwards) Gambrel born to them April 29, 1918. Mr. Gambrel believed in the Baptist faith. Mr. Gambrel had been a farmer & a Sawmill worker.
His parents, two sons Calvin & Herman Gambrel, three brothers Robie, McKinley, and Otto Gambrel, three sisters Cordie Graham, Carrie Rose & Ethel Mills preceded Mr. Gambrel in death.
Survivors include: His wife Ollie Gambrel of Flat Lick, Ky., Four sons Aubrey Gambrel & wife Christine of Burlington, Ky., Clayton Gambrel of Flat Lick, Ky., Roy & wife Connie of Morning View, Ky., William (Less) & wife Mary of Flat Lick, Ky., Four daughters Estlene Gray & husband Denver of Dewitt, Ky., Ethel Baker of Flat Lick, Ky., Carolyn Smith of Barbourville, Ky., Julia & husband Johnny of Flat Lick, Ky., 20 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren, Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Gambrel will be conducted on Saturday – May 31, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Woods & Rev. Donald Slusher officiating. Burial will follow in the Gambrel cemetery, with grandson serving as pallbearers.
Tri- County Hospice & Heritage Nursing Home will be serving as Honorary pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
