Mr. Lester Burton Mills, age 60 of Lexington, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Nannie Mae (Grubb) Mills and the son of Henry Mills and Evelyn Moore Mills born to them on June 9, 1952 in Knox Co. Mr. Mills believed in the Baptist faith.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Evelyn Mills, his mother and father in law, John and Gessie Grubb, one brother Paris Edward Mills, two sisters Carolyn Mills and Wilma Callebs and two brothers in law Lowell Callebs and Samuel Jones.
He is survived by his wife Nannie Mills of Lexington, a son John Byron Mills of Lexington, one brother Ernest Mills of London, five sisters Louise Jones and her husband Charles of Whitesburg, Juanita Mason and her husband Ray of Hinkle, Phyllis Jones of Hinkle, Brenda Evans and her husband Lance of New Jersey, and Charlotte Hensley and her husband Billy of London. Lester was also survived by two brothers in law, Harold Grubb of Elkhart, Indiana and Dan Grubb of Oceola, Indiana. Lester is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lester Burton Mills will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday November 16, 2012 in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Cynthia Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery at Hinkle. Pallbearers will be William Mills, Steven Mills and Eddie Jones along with other family & friends, honorary pallbearer is Douglas Mills. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Hampton Funeral Home.
