Mr. Leon 'Bill' Carnes, age 80, of Barbourville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Barbourville ARH. He was the husband of Anna Faye (Ramsey) Carnes and the son of the late Noah and Quillie (Smith) Carnes, born to them on October 1, 1938 in Walker, Kentucky. Leon was a member of Laurel Chapel in London, Kentucky and loved fishing, hunting, gardening and the outdoors.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents Noah and Quillie (Smith) Carnes, first wife, Wilma Hibbard Carnes, brother Leroy Carnes and sisters Nora Carnes and Lois Carnes.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his loving wife Anna Faye Carnes, sons Ronnie Carnes and wife Loretta of London, Kentucky, Phillip Carnes and wife Tina of Manchester, Kentucky, Jerry Carnes and wife Amanda of London, Kentucky, daughter Rose Carnes Bryant and husband Jessie of Corbin, Kentucky, step-sons Wesley Brockman and wife Janie of Jackson County, Kentucky, and Randy Brockman of Keavy, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers Hubert Carnes and wife Marsha, of Barbourville, Kentucky, Mac Arthur Carnes and wife Denise of Louisville, Kentucky, Jeff Carnes and wife Djuan of Barbourville, Kentucky, Otis Carnes of Barbourville, Kentucky, sisters Bertie Mae Smith of Walker, Kentucky, Pauline Norman and husband Tommy of North Carolina, and Betty Cornett and husband David of Barbourville, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Leon Carnes will be held on at Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home, with Reverend Derrick Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Carnes Family Cemetery. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
