Lena Marie Stewart

Lena Marie Jones-Stewart of Flat Lick, departed this life on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 being 70 years, 6 months, and 27 days of age. She was born on March, 31, 1945 in Bell County, Kentucky to the late Isaac and Lena Slusher-Jones. She was also preceded in death by one son, Douglas Stewart, and four brothers: Dallas Jones, Merle Jones, Lamon Jones, and Roy Jones. On September 28, 1963 Lena married the love of her life, Earnest, and to this union seven children were born.
She was a former member of Lorain Baptist Temple in Lorain, Ohio. Marie would take walks with her sister Phyllis and spent time admiring all the beauties of nature. She simply enjoyed being curled up with her dog Phoebe watching Fox news or chatting on the phone with her many friends and loved ones whom she loved so dearly. Anyone that knew Marie, knew her greatest joy was spending time with her family, getting them all together for a home cooked meal and spoiling Earnest. So often though, she could be found resting from a long day on her porch swing.
Marie leaves behind to mourn her passing her loving husband of 52 years, Earnest Stewart; three sons: Rodney Stewart and wife Brenda of Mesa, Arizona, James Stewart and wife Charlotte of Flat Lick, Ricky Stewart and wife Shawn of Sterling Heights, Michigan; three daughters: Michelle Troutman and husband Bryon of Corbin, Cynthia Duprey and husband Chris of Keavy, Jennifer Morgan and husband Jon of Sterling Heights, Michigan; three brothers: Everett Jones, Jerry Jones and Junior Jones all of Lorain, Ohio; one sister: Phyllis Jones of Barbourville; twenty-five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00PM in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Carnes and Rev. Bud Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery at Flat Lick with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 6PM until 9PM and on Saturday from 10AM until 9PM at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel.
