Ms. Laura Thompson Trent age 38 of Bimble, KY passed away on Tuesday-February 12, 2008 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. She was the daughter of Jerry Smith and Peggy (Pruter) Smith of Bimble and Dale Veldhuizen of Aurora, Illinois. Ms. Trent was born on August 11, 1969 and was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Her grandparents John and Gladys Pruter precede her in death.
Survivors included: her parents Jerry Smith and wife Peggy of Bimble, KY and Dale Veldhiuzen of Aurora, Illinois, two daughters Brittany Renee’ Trent and Candace Bryanna Thompson both of Barbourville, her grandparents Wilbur and Vera Veldhuizen of Woodstock, Illinois, a special step-grandmother Dora Smith of Bimble, KY, four brothers Terry Smith and wife Sylvia of Bimble, KY, Brian Veldhuizen and wife Heather of Aurora, Illinois, Brandon Smith and wife Christina of Bimble, KY and Bert Veldhuizen and wife Stacy of Aurora, Illinois, her boyfriend Robert Elam of Salyersville, KY and special friends Michael Trent and family. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Trent will be conducted on Friday-February 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cleo Goodlet and Rev. Doug Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Shawn Smith, Darrin Smith, Scott Trent, J.J. Smith, Josh Smith and Keith Abner. Burial will follow in the Nan Riley Cemetery at Woolum, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
