Mr. King Solomon Warren age 95 of Barbourville, KY formerly of Walker, KY departed this life on Friday, January 20, 2012 in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of John A. Warren and Bertha (Bingham) Warren and was born to them on September 4, 1916 in Knox Co., KY. In November 1946 he united in marriage with Beatrice Ward and to this union three sons were born. Beatrice preceded him in death in 1979. Later in life he united in marriage with Ellen Gray who also preceded him in death in 2001.
Also preceding him in death is four brothers, Charles E. Warren, Mont G. Warren, Curtis Warren and Leonard B. (L.B.) Warren and four sisters, Alphi Warren, Martha W. Riddle, Dorothy Hopkins and Mary W. Shoemaker.
Mr. Warren is survived by three sons, Larry E. Warren and wife Judy of Barbourville, KY, Dwight D. Warren and Dawn of Oak Ridge, TN and Dennis L. Warren of Barbourville, two brothers, J.A. Warren and wife Lillie of Barbourville and Bige R. Warren and wife Phyllis of Walker, KY, two sisters, Lois W. Mills and husband Otis of Newport, TN and Sally W. Cox and husband John of Hinkle, KY, five grandchildren, Courteny W. Farris, Reagan Reynolds, Ashlan Yost, Adam Warren and Isaac Warren, two great grandchildren, Denni Reese Farris and Olivia Grace Farris, devoted and loving step daughterLoretta Berger and husband Kenny of Pikeville, KY, step grandchildren Vanessa Branaham and Van Bevins and step great granddaughter Larissa Walters. Mr. Warren also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Mr. Warren was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II where he was a frontline medic in the 71st Infantry division of General George S. Patton's 3rd army. He was a member of the American Legion, a retired nurse from the veterans administration, a charter member of the Appalachian Children's Home where he served as the first Secretary Treasurer , he was also a charter member of the Knox Co. Historical Museum and a charter member and very active on the Daniel Boone Festival Committee. He had also been a writer, poet and contributor to several newspapers locally and in other cities. He had also been awarded distinguished shell casing by the Barbourville Cemetery Association.
Funeral services for Mr. Warren will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Shelton and family members officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the United States Military. Honorary pallbearers will be all active and inactive United States Veterans, all members of Christian Life Fellowship Church, and all members of the Daniel Boone Festival Committee. Mr. Warren will be laid to rest in the Mont G. Warren Cemetery at Walker, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
