Katherine Mills

Mrs. Katherine Mills age 67 of Flat Lick, KY, departed this life on Monday, December 20, 2010 at her home. She was the widow of Leonard Mills, Jr. who preceded her in death in August 1979. She was the daughter of Otis & Lula (Carnes) Hammons born to them in Flat Lick, KY on January 16, 1943. She was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers and crafting and fishing.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Mills, Jr., her parents, Otis and Lula Hammons and one brother Sawyer Hammons.
Left behind to mourn her passing is one son, Steven Mills and wife Debbie of Corbin, and one daughter Diane Mills of Barbourville, one sister, Carol Burnette and husband Clyde of Owens Hollow, four brothers, B.J. Hammons and Teddy Hammons both of Barbourville, Jerry Hammons and wife Kathy of Heidrick and Otis Hammons, Jr. and wife Tiffany of Girdler, four grandchildren, Michelle Edwards, Jennifer Lawson, Michael Mills and Shawn Mills, four great grandchildren, Madison Paige Edwards, Logan Isiah Edwards, Ethan William Lawson and Gaven Joseph Lawson. Mrs. Mills also leaves behind many nieces nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mills will be conducted on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Vaughn and Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be, Anthony Hammons, Teddy Hammons, Jr. Dustin Moses and Kyle Hammons. Mrs. Mills will be laid to rest in the Obie Mills Cemetery at Bell’s Fork. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
