Mrs. Julia Brown, age 84 of Bimble, KY departed this life on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Lexington. She was the widow of Obie Brown and the daughter of John & Delia Collins. She was born on February 11, 1925 in Knox Co. KY. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting but her number one hobby was going to yard sales.
She is preceded in death by her husband Obie Brown, two infant daughters Bonnie Brown and Marie Brown, one son Roscoe Brown and one infant son Russell Brown, one sister Maudie Hobbs and two brothers Bill Collins and Ben Collins
Left behind to mourn her passing is four daughters, Juanita Gray and husband Bobby of Bimble, Ruth Gray and husband Flem of Flat Lick, Joann Gray and husband Roy of Flat Lick, and Charlotte Christie of Fort Campbell, KY, four sons, Mitchell Brown & Tom Brown both of Bimble, Bryant Brown and wife Linda of Rockholds and Walter Brown and wife Sheila of Bimble, one step daughter Delphia Nolan of Bimble, one sister, Ida Collins of Barbourville and two brothers, J.H. Collins of Flat Lick and Dewey Collins and wife Loudean also of Flat Lick, eighteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Brown will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating. Pallbearers will be Calvin Griffith, Gary Smith, Cody Jackson, Walter Douglas Brown, Doc Stacy, Obie Gray and Jr. Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be the faculty and staff of Baptist Regional Medical Center and Judy Mills and Peggy LeFevers both of Professional Home Health Agency. Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest in the Brown Cemetery at Bimble. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00.
