Mrs. Judy Reed Black age 53 formerly of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Thursday, October 23, 2008 in the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was the widow of Jimmie Black and the daughter of Robert & Retha Castle born to them in Detroit, Michigan on June 26, 1955. Mrs. Black was a member of the Glory land Baptist Church and had been a nurse’s aid at the Barbourville Nursing Home. She enjoyed go to the Berea Theater and enjoying playing with her grandchildren. Her father Robert Castle preceded Mrs. Judy Black in death.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Joe Reed of Berea, KY and Roy Jesse Reed of Barbourville, KY, one brother, Ronnie Castle and wife Gloria of Berea, KY, four sisters, Helen Ryan of Deer lodge, TN, Carol Sinton of Las Vegas Nevada, Francis Esch & husband Robert of Alabama and Brenda Ingram & husband Jeffery, of Las Vegas Nevada and one grandchild Madison Lynn Reed. Mrs. Black also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Judy will be conducted on Monday – October 27th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Himyar with Friends & Family serving as Pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
