Mrs. Joyce Overbay Calllihan age 74, of Heidrick, KY passed away Tuesday – November 3rd, 2009 at her home at Trace Branch. She was the wife of Jim Callihan and the late Dan Overbay and the daughter of the late Earl & Belle (Mills) Fisher born to them on August 5th, 1935 in Knox County.
Joyce was a former employee of Warner’s where she was a seamstress, She also worked at Hobbs on the court square as a clerk, and was manager of the Mountain Mission. She was a member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, going to flea markets, eating out, spending time with her family and enjoyed just loving her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Dan Overbay, her parents Earl & Belle Fisher, one sister Geneva Hinkle,one brother Randall Fisher and two sons-in-law Larry Stewart, and Bob Smith.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her husband Jim Callihan of Heidrick, KY, one son Jamie Overbay & wife Tonya of Callebs Creek, KY, two daughters Brenda Smith Branstutter & husband Dave of Heidrick, KY, Danna Stewart of Barbourville, KY, four brothers Marvin Fisher & wife Colleen, Morris Fisher & wife Pauletta, Joe Fisher & Cleda all of Heidrick, KY, and Russ Fisher & wife Helen of Detroit, Michigan, one sister Shirley Campbell & husband Paul of Indianapolis, Indiana, seven grandchildren Brandon Simpson & wife Patty of Girdler, KY, Heather Hurst and husband Paul of Artemus, Ky, Holly Ledford & husband Brett of Cannon, KY, Hope Hubbard and husband Jason of Heidrick, KY , Jonathan Smith of Artemus, KY, Nick Gunn and Dani-lynn Overbay of Callebs Creek, KY, nine great grandchildren Brandi, Bradley, Skyler, Breanna, Michaela, Dakoda, Shane, Danielle and Devin. Mrs. Callihan also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Callihan will be conducted on Friday, November 6th, 2009 at 12:00 noon in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Morris & Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Pallbearer will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Fisher Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
The Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
