Josephine Valentine

Mrs. Josephine Valentine age 81, of Heidrick, KY passed away Sunday August 5, 2007 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, KY . She was born September 6, 1925 in Blackey, KY and was the daughter of John and Ada Crain. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a cook at Knox Central High School for seventeen years and always spoke kindly of all the students and staff. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Bowlin “Bunt” Valentine, two brothers Earl and Wise and one sister Mary.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Valentine and his wife Sheri of Barbourville and Billy Valentine of Springfield, Ohio, three daughters Donna Valentine of Barbourville, Carol Johnson of Heidrick, and Tammy Valentine of Heidrick, one brother John Crain and his wife Martha of Maranda, California and one sister Ann Cordell of Cincinnati, Ohio, seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Valentine also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Valentine will be conducted at the Highland Park Baptist Church on Wednesday August 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jeffrey Branum officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Interment will follow in the Patterson Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Highland Park Baptist Church in loving memory of Mrs. Josephine Valentine.
