He was a member of the Old Time Baptist Church and was employed by Bobs roofing.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Curtis Roop, Sr. and friend Lisa of Dewitt, Ky., his mother, Melinda Gail Roop and friend Eric Roark of Leslie Co., Ky., his girlfriend Jacqueline Bavel of Flat Lick, his expected son, Joseph Ryan Roop, his grandparents, Claude and Ruby Disney of Gray, Ky. who raised him from a baby and Ann Marie Roop of Corbin and the late Charles Roop, two brothers, Charles Disney and wife Tasha of Barbourville, Ky. and Brian Roop of Dewitt, Ky., two sisters, Chasity Roop and Samantha Roop both of Dewitt, Ky. Joseph also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Joseph Curtis Roop, Jr. will be conducted on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old Time Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy. 229 with Rev. Greg Jones and Rev. Fred Disney, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow in the Lawson-Spurlock Cemetery at Owens Hollow with the Hampton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
