Reverend Joseph Dean Collins, age 62, departed this life on Thursday, July 16, 2019 at his home in Hinkle, Kentucky.  He was the son of Robert and Brellie (Neace) Collins, born to them on February 19, 1957 in Scottsburg, Indiana.  He was the husband of Ernestine (Smith) Collins.  Joseph was an ordained Baptist minister for many years, had a Doctorate in Theology, and pastored Cedar Gap Baptist Church in Woodbine for seven years.  He loved reading the bible, fellowship, sharing the love of God, was a musician and singer, and cherished his time with family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Brellie (Neace) Collins, brother Tommy Lynn Collins and nephew Stephen Ray Collins.

Left behind to mourn his passing are his loving wife Ernestine (Smith) Collins, sons Robert Joe Collins and wife Niki of Benton, Illinois, Bryan Collins and wife Carrie of Deputy, Indiana, Michael Jackson and wife Angie of Barbourville, Kentucky, Todd Jackson and wife Melanie of Barbourville, Kentucky and Jeffrey Jackson and wife Michelle of Greenroad, Kentucky, daughter Nola Holbrook and husband John of Rush, Kentucky, grandchildren Ashlee, Bree, Trenton, Whitley, Presley Jo, Braxton, Brently, Abby, Grayson, Joshua, Daniel, Samuel, Malachi, Rachel, Lauren, Taylor, Jessica, Don Steven, Brock, and great granddaughter Aria, who is due to bless the family in September, brothers John Collins and wife Donna of Columbus, Indiana, Donald Collins and wife Angie of Seymour, Indiana, sisters Hazel Collins of Wellington, Florida, Patty Stidham and husband Ron of Seymour, Indiana and Teresa Collins and husband Larry Hardy of North Vernon, Indiana.  He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Reverend Joseph Dean Collins will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Michael Jackson, Reverend Bryan Collins and Reverend John Holbrook with officiate.  His ashes will be interred at the Bethany Cemetery in Deputy, Indiana at a later date.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m.
