Mr. John Henry North age 69 of Gray, KY passed away on Friday, May 15th, 2009 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Corbin, KY. He was the widower of Elizabeth North and the
son of the late Charlie & Laura ( Sizemore) North, born to them on April 22nd, 1940 in Knox County. Mr. North was a member of the Parkway Church of God. He was an expert auto body repairman & painter and loved carpentry & quilting. John was a multi- talented musician & chef and was the worlds greatest “Papaw”. On February 14, 1958 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Sizemore and to this union six children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie & Laura North, his wife Elizabeth North, two brothers Cecil North, and Elmer North and a baby sister Geraldine North.
Survivors include five sons Charlie North of Topeka, Kansas, Donnie North & wife Kelly of Topeka, Kansas, Roger North & wife Pam of Gray, KY, Rick North & wife Cathy of Gray, KY, and Tim North & wife Kim of Corbin, Ky., one daughter Brenda Jessup & husband Rev. John of Lexington, KY, one brother Donald North of Florida, five sisters Valamarie Sizemore of Barbourville, KY, Letha Brock & husband Robert of Flat Lick, KY, Louise Brock of Virginia, Edith Klinger of Ohio, and Geneva North of Ohio, fourteen grandchildren, Carrie LeFevers, Clint LeFevers, Annette North, John Jason Brown, Robert North, Ginerette North, Trudy North, Justin North, Rebecca Dobbs, Hannah North, Tiffany Woods, Brandy Woods, Hannah North, Dalton North, four great grandchildren Chase LeFevers, Chloe Lefevers, Skyler Nicholas North, and Naomie North, a son-in-law J.B. Brown and wife Debbie of London, KY and a sister in law Doris North of Kansas. Mr. North also leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services Mr. Mr. North will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Fowler & Rev. John Jessup officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Interment will be at the John H. North Cemetery at Gray, KY, Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
