John Marion

Mr. John T. Marion age 78 of Calleb’s Creek, KY departed this life on Thursday, April 14th, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of Elsie (Gray) Marion, and the son of the late Crit & Edna (Sizemore) Marion of Knox County born to them on February 5th, 1933 in Knox Co.
Mr. Marion was a former truck driver and farmer, he was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church, and enjoyed hunting, his grandchildren & family.
Besides his parent’s he was preceded in death by two sisters Eulel Dye, and Christine Brown, two brothers Willard Marion and Bobby Epperson and one grandson Jerry “ Jitter” Marion.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Elsie, five boys Frank Marion & wife Judy, Benny Marion & wife Lou, Johnny Marion & wife Ashley, Scott Marion, and Jerry Marion all of Hinkle. Six daughters Lou Gray & husband Chris of Hinkle, KY, Dorothy Canada and husband Lincoln of Williamsburg, KY, and Wanda Bowling & husband G.W. of Elkhorn, KY, Nancy Grubb & husband Dan of Hinkle, KY, Elnora Lowe of Caleb’s Creek, and Kay Marcum of Valentine Branch. Twenty eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Marion will be conducted on Tuesday-April19th, 2011 @ 2:00 p.m. in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Smith, Rev. Wayne Gibson, Rev. Anthony Jordan, Rev. Bill Stewart, and Rev. Doctor Bobby Lawson officiating. Pallbearers will be Christopher Gray, Jeffery Gray, Justin Baker, Charlie Ray Marion, George Marcum, Danny Wayne Grubb, Victor Marion, and Bruce Marion. Honorary Pallbearers will be friends & family. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery, in Paynes Branch.
