Mr. John Riley Knuckles, Sr., age 85 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Saturday December 1, 2007 in the Harlan ARH. He was the husband of Anna Marie Knuckles And the son of Tom and Linda Gray Knuckles. Mr. Knuckles was a member of the Concord Baptist Church and a retired Coal Miner he also loved to mow his yard and set on the porch.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son John Riley Knuckles, Jr., one daughter Edna Knuckles Mills, four brothers Earl Ray, Curt, Webster and George Knuckles, two sisters Ellen France and Dorothy Epperson. Survivors include, one son Arnold Knuckles and wife Patricia of Pineville, Ky., two daughters Elizabeth Knuckles of Flat Lick, Ky. and Molly Bingham and husband Vince of Flat, Lick, Ky., four brothers Evy Knuckles and wife Oma of Corbin,Ky., Virgil Knuckles and wife Ruth of Arjay, Ky., Saul and wife Mary of Flat Lick, Ky., one sister Shirley Baker of Flat Lick, Ky., nine grandchildren Leann Goins, Josh Knuckles, Mike Knuckles, Joe Knuckles, teresa Knuckles, Casey Bingham, Cindy Bingham, Lois Jean Johnson and Crystal Knuckles, one daughter in law Faye Knuckles along with 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. John Riley Knuckles, Sr. will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday December 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Timothy R. Goins and Rev. Larry Sowders officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ed Bingham and Frank Bingham. Burial will be in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
