Mr. John Henry Baker age 83 of Artemus, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the widow of Doris Elizabeth (Dotson) Baker and the son of Henry Baker and Lizzie (Collins) Baker, born to them on September 21, 1936 in Middlesboro, KY. John believed in the Baptist faith. He was a carpenter and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and carving wood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lizzie Baker, his wife Doris Elizabeth Baker, one brother, Elvert Baker and four sisters, Marie Hughes, Pauline Jackson, Susie Hamilton and Mildred Baker.

Survivors include, his two daughters, Cheryl Gray of Barbourville and Carol Evans of Madison, Tennessee, two sons, Johnny Ray Baker of Michigan and Robert Leroy Blankenship of Louisville, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, Johnny Ray Baker, Christopher Baker, Ashley Simpson and husband Travis, Karl Middleton and wife Courtney, Brandi Blankenship, Samantha Daneker, Kristopher Wilson, Sabrina Wilson and Matthew Baker, three great grandchildren, Braxton and Addison Simpson and Reese Middleton, two sisters, Joanne Stapleton and Una Mae Dempsey both of Coalport. He also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. John Henry Baker will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be Karl Stefen Middleton, Travis D. Simpson, Charles Felts, John Wilkerson, Jeff Rose and Emanuel Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Ballard Collins and Ted Gray.He will be laid to rest in the Van Cemetery at Coalport.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
