Mr. Jim Frank Bates

Mr. Jim Frank Bates age 58 of Barbourville, KY passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Marvin & Bessie (Lewallen) Bates born to them on May 14th, 1952 in Colorado.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Jack Strong.

Mr. Bates believed in the Baptist faith and was a former electrician and was a member of the United States Air Force where he was a First class Airman. He enjoyed playing music and visiting with family & friends.

Survivors include one son: Jim Franks Bates, Jr, one Brother Danny Bates & wife Patricia of London, KY, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.


Funeral services for Mr. Bates will be conducted on Sunday December 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Hatfield officiating. Pallbearers will be Family & Friends; Burial will follow in the Kitchen Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
