Mr. Jess McDonald age 78 of Barbourville, KY passed away on Friday, February 24th, 2012 in the Knox county Hospital. He was the husband of Marie (Gray) McDonald and the son of the late John & Mitti (Sears) McDonald of Knox County born to them on January 11, 1934.
Mr. McDonald was a retired coal miner, and a member of God's Temple, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one baby sister Maggie McDonald, three brothers Glen, Joe, and Charles McDonald. Two great-grandchildren Ashley Nicole McDonald and Taylor Michelle McDonald.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Marie, two sons Roger McDonald & wife Carol, Michael McDonald & Beverly, and one daughter Christy Hamilton & husband Gary, all of Barbourville, KY, one brother James McDonald & wife of Corbin, KY, three sisters Faye Fisher & husband Jim of Somerset, KY and Louetta McDonald and Mae McDonald. Four Grandchildren Roger McDonald Jr. & wife Jennifer, Jessica Ray Logan & husband Jerry, Whitney Nicole McDonald, and Autumn Paige Hamilton, three great-Grandchildren Dalton hunter McDonald, Morgan Faith Logan, and Kathleen Hope McDonald . Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Jess McDonald will be conducted on Monday, February 27th 2012 @ 12:00 noon. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Dean, Rev. Pete Clark, and Rev. Jimmy Lee officiating. Pallbearers will be Codi Diamond, Bill Smith, Wayne Broughton, Casey Diamond, Terry Smith, and Kevin Partin. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Peterson, Dr. West, and The staff of the Knox county Hospital. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
