Jerry Head

Mr. Jerry Head age 62 of Poplar Creek departed this life on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at his home.  He was the husband of Donna (Evans) Head and the son of Luther and Dessie Head born to them on July 27, 1957. Jerry was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church and worked as a construction supervisor with Specialty Interiors. Jerry loved fishing and hunting and being with his family & friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jr. Matlock.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of twenty-five years Donna Head, Poplar Creek, one daughter, Ashley Muse of Corbin, a step daughter, Jennifer Troutman and husband Scott of Barbourville, and a step-son, Jeff McQueen and fiance’ Jennifer Piercy of Louisville, three wonderful grandchildren, Destiny, Hunter and Jacob, one brother, Robert Head and friend Jan Brogdon of Poplar Creek and one sister, Loretta Gambrel and husband Eddie of Hinkle. He also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Head will be conducted on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Locust Grove Baptist Church at Poplar Creek with Rev. Randy Douglas and Rev. Travis Matlock officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Head Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Jim Tom Foley, Greg Shelton, Mitchell Matlock, Travis Matlock, Sisko Brogdon, Jacob Brock, Brandon Abner and Bradley Abner. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Locust Grove Baptist Church at Poplar Creek on Saturday evening after 6:00 p.m.
