Janet Lee (Messer) Price

Mrs. Janet Lee Price age 77 of Richmond, KY departed this life on Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the St. Joe’s East Hospital in Lexington. She was the daughter of Elijah Messer and Minnie (Gregory) Messer born to them on April 27, 1940 in Heidrick, KY. She was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church and later in life attended Highland Park Baptist Church. Janet enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing, playing Bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Minie Messer and one brother, Carl D. Messer.

Left behind to mourn her passing, her long-time husband Bo Price of Heidrick, one son, Greg Price of Heidrick, one daughter, Rebecca Sue Price of Lexington, one brother, W.J. Messer and wife Marietta of Lexington, one sister, Glenda Sue Owens of Bailey Switch, four wonderful grandchildren, Alexis Dudley and husband Anthony, Mimi Taylor Price, Samantha Price and Colton Price. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Janet Lee Price will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Jeffrey Branum officiating. Pallbearers will be, Chris Messer, Colton Price, Paul Steven Bargo, Bobby Price, Ray Myers, E.G. Abner, Ray Price and Bee Abner. Honorary pallbearers will be, employees of J. Sutters Mills, KCEOC, all her friends at Maidson Tower and all her grandchildren. She will be laid to rest in the Messer Cemetery at Heidrick. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
