Mr. James (Jim) Dexter Sharp
Mr. James (Jim) Dexter Sharp age 64 of Gray, KY departed this life on Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin. He was the son of Taylor & Amanda Sharp and was the husband of Laverne Sharp. Mr. Sharp believed in the Baptist faith, and was a former Coal Miner, He enjoyed playing music, farming, fishing, and watching T.V.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Amanda (Vaughn) Sharp, one brother Russell Ray Sharp, and three sisters Joyce Partin, Marie Manhole, Betty Sharp and His father in-law Solman Taylor.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Laverne Sharp of Gray, KY, one son Wesley Sharp & wife Tina of Gray, KY, three brothers Sillus Sharp & Allie, E.J. Sharp & wife Teresa, and Dean Sharp all of Keavy, KY, two Grandchildren James Wesley Jr, and girl fiend Kellie Dixon, and Stephanie Leann Sharp, and his Mother-in-law Opal Taylor. Mr. Sharp also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Jim Sharp will be conducted on Monday, March 22nd, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Helton and Rev. Gene Hubbs officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Oak Tree Hospital. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
