Mr. James Leath age 83 of Barbourville, KY, the husband of Beatrice (Carnes) Leath went home to be with the Lord on Friday – October 24, 2008. He was the son of Joe & Luvena (Davis) Leath born to them March 13, 1925 in Knox County. Mr. Leath enjoyed working on cars, and anything to do with his hands; he also enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. His parents & one son Gary Wayne Leath, two brothers Cecil, Marvin precede him in death
Survivors include his wife Beatrice Leath, his daughter Brenda Kempf & husband Bryon of Bowling Green, KY. One brothers Joe Jr. Leath & wife Julienne of Cinn, Ohio. Two sisters Goldie Showaters of Cinn, Ohio. Ina Profitt of Hinkle, KY. Two Grandchildren Shelby Catherine Kempf, Kayla Nicole Kempf. A special great niece Tiffany Jordan. Plus a host of other family & friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. James Leath will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday – October 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kennon Roark & Rev. Alvin Dunn officiating. Pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barbourville Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Knox County Hospital, and Dr. West, Dr. Warren, Dr. Peterson, and all their staff. Burial will be in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangement. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
