James Alan Crawford

Mr. James Alan Crawford, age 66 of the Bryant Store community in Barbourville, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 in the Barbourville Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was a son of the late Johnny and Gladys Brown Crawford, born to them on February 18, 1951 in Barbourville. He united in marriage to Elaine Senters and to this union, one son was born. James worked as a coal miner before retiring and was a member of the Old Poplar Creek Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cordia Lynn Crawford.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Senters Crawford; One son, Jamie Lynn (Jamie Beth); Two brothers, Gary Crawford and Larry (Donna) Crawford; Four sisters: Anna Garland, Faye Miracle (Dean), Regina Moses (LB) and Tonya Smith (Tony); James is also survived by three loving grandchildren, Saxon, Ava and Mace.

Funeral services for James Alan Crawford will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Jeffrey Barnum officiating. Burial will be Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Mays Cemetery in Bryant Store with the following pall bearers Terry McCreary, Kennith Grubb, Jerry Benttin, Harold McCreary, Dennis Gibson, Harrald Senters and Darrett Shields.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Saturday evening after 6:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 8:00 P.M.
