Mr. James R. Baker age 84 of Fourmile, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the husband of Bobbie Jean Baker and the son of the late Gilbert & Julie Baker and was born to them July27th, 1925. Mr. Baker believed in the Baptist faith. He was a former coal miner who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing music.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert & Julie Baker, five brothers John, Cal, Bill, Thomas, and Everett Baker and three sisters Myrtle Gray, Alice Burnett and Lois Marshall.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Bobbie Jean Baker of Fourmile, KY, two sons Ronnie Baker & wife Lisa of Manchester, KY, James Baker & Shelia of Hinkle, KY and four grandchildren Haven Baker, Hannah Baker, Andrea Mitchell, and Alisha Mitchell. Mr. Baker also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be conducted on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrell Barrett, Lee Guess, James Helton, Jerry Gambrel, Joe Ray Gambrel, and Everett Gambrel. Burial will follow in the Walker cemetery at Moore's Creek. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Hoem on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 am until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m.
