Mr. J. Edward Bennett, age 58 of Panama City, Fl. Departed this life on Monday-October 22, 2007.He was the son of the late Cecil Edward Bennett & Mary Bertha (Fuson) Bennett both of Knox Co. J. Edward Bennett was born to them on September 07, 1949. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Gillion Baptist Church. He loved coin collecting, an enjoyed sports, his favorite was watching the Red wings & Tigers. He also was an Amateur Literature writer. He had also been a member of the National Guards an was a Graduate of Wayne State University where he held a Bachelor of Science Degree. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Justice Bennett.
Survivors include: Two brothers Earnest Lee Bennett of Barbourville, Ky. Ralph Bennett Of Corbin, Ky. One sister Ruby Jean Smith and husband James of Harrison, Ohio. One adoptive Brother Stanley Spencer Chatfield, Jr. “Rusty” of Pelleston, Mich. Two adoptive sisters Pattie Christson, of Chett, Ill and Robin Chatfield of Mich. Adoptive parents are Spencer & Lorene Chatfield of Pelleston, Mich. Funeral Services will be in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, On Monday – October 29, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Nephews & Friends. Interment will be at the Croley Cemetery at Little Popular Creek.
