Irene Gray

Mrs. Irene Gray age 68 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Monday night - October 17th, 2011 in the Knox County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charlie & Mealie Messer, born to them on August 15th, 1943 in Knox County, and the widow of Marvin Gray.
Irene was a homemaker, and was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church. She enjoyed canning and working in her garden and her time with family.
Besides her parents & husband she was preceded in death by one Brother Clifford Messer, and two Sisters Evelyn Swafford, and Lizzie Messer.
Left behind to mourn her passing is two sons Bobby Gray & wife Sherry of Corbin, KY, and Gary Gray & wife Karen, one daughter Margaret Hensley & husband David all of Barbourville, KY, one brother J.T. Messer of Girdler, KY, and one sister Jessie Golden of Kay Jay, KY, six grandchildren Donnie Gray, Tyler Gray who is serving in the service in Kuwait , Lindsay Gray, Brad Gray, Samuel Gray, and David Gray, and one great great grandchild on the way. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be conducted on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 @ 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Miles & Rev. Phillip Wynn officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Hasni, Dr. Lohe, Dr. V., Dr. Kumar, and Knox County Home Health, which the family would like to say a special "Thank You" to nurse April. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
