Ms. Imogene Maynes age 75 of Kay Jay, passed away Monday November 3, 2008 at her home. She was born in Knox Co. on March 21, 1933 and was the daughter of John Will Maynes and Martha Jane Osborne. Imogene believed in the Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Will and Martha Maynes and one sister Jermaine Maynes.
Left behind to mourn her passing are four sisters, Hazel Anderson of Big Stone Gap, VA, Midlred Mayhan of Siler, KY, Willie Jean of Amhurst, OH and Shirley Ann Boyd and husband Glen of Big Stone Gap, VA and five brothers, J.C. Maynes and wife Gail of Amhurst, OH, Harold Ray Maynes and Ancil Maynes and C.G. Maynes all of Barbourville and Troy Willard Maynes of Kay Jay. Ms Maynes also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Maynes will be conducted on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Jones and Rev. Harold Brewer officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews of Ms. Maynes. Burial will follow in the Jonestown Cemetery at Kay Jay. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
