Hubert Hensley

Mr. Hubert Lee Hensley, age 90, of Barbourville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the Heritage Nursing Home in Corbin, Kentucky. Hubert was born on November, 25, 1922 in Clay County, KY the son of Granville Hensley and Jessie Mae (Smith) Hensley.
Mr. Hensley was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. Hubert was a deacon of the Swan Pond Baptist Church and an ordained Baptist Minister. He was a member of the Gideon's and loved fishing and gardening. Hubert was also a member of the American Legion. During his working life he was a ward supervisor at the Wayne Co. General Hospital in Michigan
Mr. Hensley is preceded in death by his parents, Granville and Jessie Hensley, five brothers, James, Granville, Charles, Clifford, and Frank Hensley , four sisters Marie Price, Florence Perciful, Bernice Gregory, and Beatrice Hensley and one great grandchild Jenna Painter.
Hubert is survived by his wife of sixty seven years Lucy Hensley, one son Hubert Lee Hensley Jr. and his wife Pamela, one daughter Gloria Painter and her husband Ronald, three grandchildren Gary Painter and his wife Patricia, Jacqueline Marcum and her husband Joseph, and Allen Hensley, five great grandchildren Timothy Marcum, Jeremiah Marcum, Joshua Marcum, Jacob Painter, and Jillian Painter and two sisters, Velma Krizman, and Doris Smith and her husband James. Mr. Hensley also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Hubert Hensley will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at the Swan Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Denvil Taylor and Rev. Tom Patterson officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Josh Smith. Burial will follow in the Mayhew Cemetery in Barbourville. Pallbearers will be Van Hudson, Brook Mills, Michael Mills, Paul Mills, Scott Partin, Doug Shields, Eddie Smith and Gary West. Honorary pallbearers will be the men's Sunday School Class at Swan Pond Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends after 6PM Tuesday at the funeral home and 9AM till the funeral hour of 11AM Wednesday at the church
