Herbert Joe Smith

Mr. Herbert Joe Smith age 76 of Dewitt, KY departed this life on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1940 in Knox Co., KY the son of Jim Smith and Bertha Wallace. He was a member of the Union Mission Baptist Church of Moores Creek. He is preceded in death by his wife Marie (Baker) Smith along with a son Jessie Smith. and one daughter Kathleen Smith.

Survivors include his two daughters, Sandie Gray and husband Doyle of Dewitt and Jessica Smith of Flat Lick, two grandchildren, Nicholas Gray and Jayden Gray, one brother, Bobby Wallace, of Dewitt,  and one sister, Dora Lee Lester also of Barbourville. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Joe Smith will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. He will be laid to rest in the Williamson-Mills Cemetery at Dewitt. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., and on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday until the hour of

service at 2:00 p.m.
