Helen Vaughn

Mrs. Helen Jean Vaughn age 81 of Barbourville, formerly of Jarvis passed away on Wednesday – April 15, 2009 at the Christian Health Care Center in Corbin, KY. She was the widow of Garret Vaughn and the daughter of the late George & Cynthia (House) Allen of Clay County, born to them on May 25, 1927. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and she just wanted to provide for her family nothing more.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Garrett Vaughn, one son, Clinton Vaughn, one daughter, Ruby Lay, her parents George & Cynthia Allen, three brothers Albert Allen, E.L. Allen, Virgil Allen, three sisters Joyce Dooley, Ada Allen, and Marie Hutton, one Grandchild Chad Mattingly, and one Great-Grandchild Garrett Wayne Helton.
Left to mourn her passing, one son Andrew Vaughn & wife Eve of Lily, KY, four daughters Carolyn & Danny Bowling of London, KY, Lillie Messer of Barbourville, KY, Betty Yeager & husband Allen Ray of Gray, KY, Cynthia Ann Baker of Barbourville, KY, one brother John Allen & wife Beatrice (B) of London, KY, three sisters Liddie Belle Jones of Cranesnest, KY, Opal Gilbert & husband Charlie of Jackson, KY , Lillie Trevillion of Armada, Michigan, twelve Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Helen also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Vaughn will be in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday – April 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. E.W. Yeager & Rev. Donald Slusher officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons & great grandsons, Michael Helton, Shane Mattingly, Jeremiah Lay, Chuck Yeager, Jacob Hembree. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
