Mr. Harry Smallwood age 55 of Barbourville, KY passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Saint Joseph Hospital in London, KY. He was the son of the late Harry & Wanda (Helton) Smallwood of Knox County, born to them on January 30, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois.
Harry was a member of the Everlasting Grace Baptist Church, and was a former employee of CTA, he enjoyed football, basketball, and making willow furniture.
Left behind to mourn his passing is Kathy Cash Smallwood, one son Neil Elam Smallwood of West Liberty, KY, one daughter Johnna Cottam & husband David of Kinnelom, NJ, three brothers Ricky Smallwood and fiancée Diane of London, KY, Iva Avant Carter & wife Carol of Daytona, FL, and Jr. Campbell of Barbourville, KY, two sisters Sandy Broughton & husband Rick of Barbourville, KY, and Sherry Church & husband Matt of Corbin, KY, Two grandchildren Andrew Cottam, and Christian Cottam. Aunts Opal McCullah of Barbourville, KY, Nannie Perry of Corbin, KY and Etta B. Bradford of Barbourville, KY. Uncles "Frog" Helton and Delane Joe Helton. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Smallwood will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2012 @ 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tony Jackson & Rev. Matt Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Wesley Deaton, Rick Broughton, Dustin Broughton, Jr. Perry, Ronnie Perry, and James Green. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery at Woodbine. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
