Harmon Payne

Mr. Harmon Payne age 85 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was the son of Robert Horton Payne and Cordia Garland Payne born to them on June 3, 1931 in Knox Co. On January 8, 1952, he united in marriage with Retha Brown and to this union four children were born. Mr. Payne was a coal miner and a member of the Old Flat Lick Baptist church. He is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Louanna Payne and Jackie Napier, one brother, Walter Matthew Payne and three sisters, Lydia, Nancy and Julie.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of sixty three years, Retha Payne of Flat Lick, two sons, Cecil Harmon Payne and wife Patricia Gail of Bucyrus, Ohio and Junior Ray Payne of Heidrick, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mr. Payne also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Payne will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lonzo Messer and Rev. Leslie Broughton officiating. Pallbearers will family & friends. He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
