, 1931, he died at the University of Kentucky Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident March 1

, 2007. He was the son of Grover Warren, Sr. and Fannie (Bedow) Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Rev. Benjamin Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Louis Mitchell, James Crit Warren, Billy Ray Warren; and sister Naomi (Mitchell) Hall.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vinnia Lou (Messer) Warren; Son Michael Warren and his wife Doriann (Kolomyjec) Warren; Grandchildren Delaney and Ian Warren; Sisters Evelyn Goins of Barbourville Ky., Betty (Ray) Holcomb of Girdler Ky., and Lois Owens of Windham, Oh; and Brother William "Buck" Warren.
Grover Warren, Jr. served as a Marine Corps Sergeant in the Korean War until he was awarded his Honorable Discharge in 1952, earning the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat, the Korean Service Medal for 30 consecutive days in active combat service on the front line battlefield, the Marksman Badge for skill as a rifleman and the National Defense Service Medal for serving on active duty between 27 June 1950 and 27 July 1954. Grover married Vinnia Lou Messer in 1954 who gave birth to their only child, Michael Edward Warren, in 1959. In 1981 Michael Warren was married to Doriann Kolomyjec, who gave birth to Grover's only grandchildren Delaney and Ian Warren. He belonged to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars organization and attended VFW post #69. Mr. Warren was a 32

Degree Mason, attending Masonic Lodge #187, Barbourville, Ky., and was also a member of the International Fraternity of the Mystic Shrine.
He believed in Our Lord Jesus Christ and worshipped at the Roadside Baptist Church in Barbourville and was also active in Christian Life Fellowship's food program, delivering food to shut-ins and the needy in the community. He was also famous for saying:" Lived an unfinished life but he wouldn't have finished it anyway."
Funeral services for Mr. Warren will be conducted on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Partin and Rev. David Shelton officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening . Pallbearer will be family & friends. Mr. Warren will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Barbourville Cemetery with Hampton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
