Gracie Owens

Mrs. Gracie Mae Owens age 75 of Barbourville departed this life on Monday, January 30, 2012 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the widow of Walter Owens who preceded her in death in 2005. She was born on April 5, 1936 in Knox Co. and was the daughter of Archie and Anna Jane Smith. Mrs. Owens was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Barbourville. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, one son Lonnie Ray Owens along with several siblings.
Left behind to mourn her passing in two sons, Walter Owens and Rick Owens both of Barbourville, four daughters, Brenda Doolin, Debra Owens, Beverly Smith and Sherry Owens and husband Carl all of Barbourville, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and one sister Lelia Jawark of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mrs. Owens also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Owens will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 12:00 noon with Rev. David Shelton officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will be in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
