Mrs. Gracie Bingham Brooks age 62 of Bimble, KY passed away Thursday-August 30, 2007 at the Oaktree Hospital in Corbin, KY. She was born April 23, 1945 to Hugh Bob Bingham and Eliza Baker in Scalf, KY. On August 15, 1963 she was united in marriage to James Howard Brooks and to this union 3 children were born. Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister Axie Martin, three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Survivors left to mourn her passing include: two daughters Anna Lawson and husband Jessie of Bimble, KY and Julie Ann Lawson and husband Tommy of Artemus, KY; one son Donnie Brooks and wife Charlene of Bimble, KY. ; three sisters Eva Mills of Girdler, KY Annie Mills and husband Victor of Scalf, KY and Imogene Mills and husband Gilbert of Scalf, KY.; four brothers Lee Bingham, Powell Bingham and wife Lizzie, Herb Bingham and wife Lela, and Vince Bingham and wife Molly all of Scalf, KY. Mrs. Brooks also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Stephanie Ann and husband Jesse, Cynthia Lyn and husband Sandy, Tiffany Michelle, Emily Marie, Jacob Michael, Tommy James, Joseph Zachery, Paige Grace, and Caseylynn Faye and three great-grandchildren: Makayla Brianna, Matthew Allen and James Daniel to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be conducted on Sunday-September 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Hammons and Rev. Kennon Roark officiating. Pallbearers will be Jessie Martin, Kenneth Roberts, David Barnes, Jesse Chancellor, Jessie Lawson and Sandy Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow in the Bingham Cemetery at Scalf, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
