Goldie Smith

Mrs. Goldie Smith, age 80 of Gray, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Ky. She was born on October 16, 1931 in Fount, KY The daughter of the late Tip and Carrie Smith. In 1949 she was united in marriage to the late Steve Smith Jr. and to this union three daughters were born. Ms. Smith was retired from the Kroger Company and was a KY Colonel. She was generous to all those around her,
Survivors include three daughters Sandra Baysinger and husband Duane of Corbin, Beverly Hensley and husband Joe of Gray, KY, and Crystal underwood of Gray, one brother Eugene Smith and wife Verda of Grosseile, Michigan, one sister Helen Buckhorn and husband Jim of Garden City, Michigan. Six grandchildren Jessica Sipe and husband Jody of Ryland Heights, Kentucky, Joshua Baysinger and wife Darla of Woodbine, Heather Baysinger of Covington, KY Jonathan Barton and fiancée Tara Swafford of Gray, Cristine Barton of Corbin, and Carrie Hensley of Gray. Two great grandchildren Andrew Baysinger of Woodbine and Nathan Baysinger of Woodbine. One special nephew Keith Harbin and her special little companion Ginger. Goldie also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Goldie Smith will be conducted at 10AM Saturday at Hampton Funeral Home with Jimmy Siler and James Bargo officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchinson Cemetery at Bailey Switch. The family will receive friends after 6PM Friday evening at the funeral home
