Goldie Grubb

Ms. Goldie Grubb age 81 of Flat Lick, KY passed away Wednesday – November 11th, 2009 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Harrison & Mandy Jane Mills born to them on May 28th, 1928 in Knox County and the widow of John Grubb who she had married in 1945.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents Harrison & Mandy Mills, Her husband John Grubb, one son John Jr “Toby” Grubb, two brothers Hobert Mills, Otis Mills, and three sisters Bessie Grubb, Edna Gambrel, and Mary Smith.

Goldie was a former employee at Warner Brothers where she had worked for over 35 years, her occupation was a cutter. She was a member of the Mills Mission Baptist Church and she enjoyed working with her hands in flowers, quilting, crafts, and like to go to the flea markets.

Left behind to mourn her passing is one brother Ford Mills & wife Emma of Independence, KY, Several nieces and nephews, plus a host of friends, family and neighbors to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Goldie Grubb will be conducted on Saturday – November 14th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denvil Taylor & Rev. Josh. G. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Houston Broughton Cemetery with Nephews serving as pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

The Grubb family will receive friends on Friday evening form 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
