Floyd Glenn Patterson, age 76, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on October 10, 2018. He was born October 18, 1941, in Flat Lick, Kentucky to the late John Earl Patterson, Sr. and the late Jenivia Pearl Reed Patterson. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Jackie Hall, Bonnie Adams, Doris Clark, and Elmeda Patterson. Glenn was a gifted carpenter by trade for more than 50 years and he enjoyed woodworking as a hobby during his retirement. He was an active member of East Barbourville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a 1958 graduate of Knox Central High School.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon Allen Patterson of Flat Lick, one daughter, Glenna Elaine Broughton and son-in-law, Eddie Arnold Broughton of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Jenna Marie Whelan and husband David of Irvington, Kentucky, Joshua Aaron Broughton of El Paso, Texas, (deployed to Korea) and Caleb Samuel Broughton of Lexington, Kentucky, one great-granddaughter, Leila Elaine Whelan of Irvington, Kentucky, one brother, John Earl Patterson, Jr. and wife Anna Gaye of Pineville, Kentucky, three nieces, Cindy Brown and husband Dick of Frankfort, Kentucky, Teresa Sharpe and husband Mike of Tazewell, Virginia, and Tammy Cornelius and Husband Tim of Pineville, Kentucky, several great nieces and nephews, along with many precious family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be conducted at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Josh Smith and Rev. John Ditty officiating. Pallbearers will be Caleb Broughton, David Whelan, George Salyers Ricky Woodside, Dick Brown, Michael Sharpe. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Broughton and the deacons of East Barbourville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday, October 12, 2018, after 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday, after 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Donations may be made to the  Bluegrass Hospice and/or East Barbourville Baptist Church building fund in loving memory of Glenn.
