Mr. Glen Dale Owens, age 78 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital East in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the husband of Hazel (Peavley) Owens and the son of Harrison and Beatrice (Frederick) Owens, born to them on December 25, 1940 in Knox County, Kentucky. Dale was a member of East Barbourville Baptist Church. He was the owner/operator of Owens Furniture for 47 years and Parkway Monument for 26 years, and enjoyed working to serve the people of Knox County and the surrounding area through his businesses.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Beatrice (Frederick) Owens and brother Lewis Phillip Owens.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife Hazel Owens, sons Todd Owens and wife Renia of Gray, Kentucky and Mike Owens and wife Sheri of Gray Kentucky, grandchildren Hunter Owens, Shaw Owens and wife Michaela, Corey Owens, Logan Owens and Jenna Owens, all of Gray, Kentucky. He also leaves behind a many relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Glen Dale Owens will be conducted at East Barbourville Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Josh Smith and Reverend David Barnard officiating. Pallbearers will be Kyle Hubbs, Terry Centers, Rodney Smith, Bob Dunaway, Larry Marler and Steve Farmer. Honorary pallbearers are friends, neighbors and members of East Barbourville Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in the Hutchinson Cemetery at Gray, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends and family may call at East Barbourville Baptist Church on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
