Gladys Jones

Mrs. Gladys Marie Jones age 86 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in the Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London, KY. She was the widow of Ambrose Jones and the daughter of Harvey and Annie Hale born to them on October 10, 1922. She was a homemaker and a member of the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, garden and grow flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ambrose Jones, her parents Harvey and Annie Hale, one son, Edwin Jones, two grandchildren, one sister Nellie Gully and one son in law, Eugene Schell.
Left behind to mourn her passing, two sons, Benny Jones and wife Deloris of Jarvis and Donnie Jones and wife Kathy of Barbourville, four daughters, Nellie Schell of Indianapolis, Indiana, Faye Hoskins and husband Troy of Barbourville, Rose Edwards and husband David of Girdler and Kathy Valentine and husband Johnny of Barbourville, twenty grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren, three sisters, Lois Crowler and husband Jay of Louisville, Lillie Tedders of Indianapolis, IN and Edith Hale of Louisville, one daughter in law, Lydia Bell Jones of Barbourville. Mrs. Jones also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mrs. Jones. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Laurel Heights Nursing Home especially Rhonda Ball and all family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Taylor Cemetery at Blackwater. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
